Following a change in the EYFS in September 2021, Banana Moon introduced and launched our very own curriculum which we use to track, monitor and assess each child's development at Baddesley Ensor. The new curriculum really allows our Early Years Professionals to spend more quality time with your children, learning through PLAY!
We are always observing your children, every moment of every day, not every observation is written down or documented, nor does it need to be but all of those important moments, all of those achievements we observe and record to share with parents and to link to aspects of your child's individual development so that we, as their key person, or early years professionals team know where your child is working at and what they are working towards, identifying any gaps in development and creating exciting learning opportunities to bridge those gaps.
Recently we have created a new narrative style of observations. Of course those all important achievements are recorded and shared as individual golden moments such as first steps, counting 1-10, toilet training etc. but each month we are now creating a monthly narrative observation that we send out at the end of the month full of information about your child - unique to what they have been interested in, their achievements, their voice, and their play across the whole month. Basically lots of lovely information for you as parents to read - or so we hope! The early years professionals will work collaboratively to add to those observations during the month finalising by linking to their developmental outcomes.
